Security Features:

We provide an encryption system for storing credit card data and passwords. We also have a system setup that allows you to provide your own encryption routines. The "encryption modules" section of NixBill will allow you to write you own encryption system for storing credit card data. Using these modules will allow you to use a system like pgp to encrypt the data so that a password is required to access it. Using a system like this removes some of the automation of the system but it provides greater security.
When using a password required module to process renewals, it is a simple process of entering your encryption password to have the system decrypt the data and process the renewal. This system also does not lock you to one type of encryption. You can add as many different encryption modules as you need and have them all store the data in a different way. This would prevent all data from being compromised if one of your modules was broken. The encryption module id that is used on an account is stored with the account.
We provide two different samples of encryption modules that can be used with the system and also to be used as a guide when creating new modules.
See http://www.nixbill.com/forum/encryption-modules for more details on the sample modules.
