Can someone explain what exactly is cpanel theme v11?

Do I really need to use v11? I am using 7dana v1.0 theme, is it compatible?

My current whm/cpanel version is WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.9.0-R57. Is there any reason to upgrade? Would the upgrade automatically upgrade my theme as well or the theme upgrade is optional?
