    Default X3 Preview Thread

With the release of cPanel 11 pending, we've reworked the x theme to offer a lot more. Take a look at:

It will be free when it comes out. It should be here with the release of cPanel 11 or maybe even sooner.

    Hey that looks pretty nice

The one critique that I would have is the usage grahics. Although they may look cool and all, they are somewhat meaningless to me, with the exception of possibly bandwidth and space usage. Also, the drag and drop, how are you going to store the state? via a cookie?

    Anyway, that's just a tick I have I suppose.

But you really did a great job.

Any specific ones throwing you off?

It's stored server side so you don't lose it. You can reset to default at the top of the screen if needed.

Well it's not that they throw me off, it's just that I think they are a bit useless and waste of screen space... but that's me. For instance, if you allow say, 50 emails allowed, and 46 are used, the graphic to me says, "ok, I haven't used all", but I still need to check out the actual numbers to see what I can add. See what I mean? It's a bit useless. However, when dealing with bandwidth and diskspace the graphical representation of what has been consumed, is very useful.

Don't pay too much attention to this all

This is better than evolution but not by much ... If evolution is/was 3/10 then X3 gets 4/10.

Cpanel should stick to what they know best, develop Cpanel and fix the securities issues that plague it for example and leave the web design to the experts.

I hate to be a negative nancy but this is still a VERY poor effort. Both these skins look very amateurish, unpolished, inconsistent and so on. Sorry, but that's my opinion.

Whoever is designing these 2 skins needs to start thinking outside the box or let the pros do it.

    Nice work !!

You might want to change the font on the text on the left colum.. (Disk Space Usage, Bandwidth (this month) etc.. ) something easier to read

I like it. I started using my own custom skin a few months after my first server and have been using my own ever since. About all I do though is organize the icons a little, add a few useful links to the front page, and add a bit of useful text to some pages. The organizing is the most complicated alteration and I won't need to do that with X3.
