make sure your DNS/NS are configured properly; Did you establish rDNS? These forums have so much information on how to configure the DNS and NS on your server, and on how to establish/implement rDNS.

    Go on, have a guess
Ultimtatly, only the recipients server admin can help because they are the ones rejecting your SMTP connection at the end of the DATA stage. Most likely it's a configuration error on that users mail account at their end.

First step should always be (well, after you check your logs to see if you can find an answer there) to see if you are listed on any RBLs. People still use them, innocent people still get listed on them and it's still hard to get off them (some of them).

    http://www.robtex.com/rbls
    http://relays.osirusoft.com/cgi-bin/rbcheck.cgi
    http://www.completewhois.com/rbl_lookup.htm

Also check to see if you have a valid rDNS entry for the domain/ip, or if you have an SPF record that might be blocking the server from sending for some reason. As Chirpy said, 95% of the time it's the other guy - but never hurts to look into it. :)

I think it has mostly to do with the fact that my host godaddy is using send_to_smart_host and the smart host is messing up ALL mails

Anyone know about what send_to_smart_host does etc ?
