Does anyone know what exactly mod_bwlimited does? What purpose it serves? A customer brought up something else today, but that was mentioned and I realized I don't exactly know what it does. I've looked up on google and get a good number of php info pages, then on google groups a few people asking about it without any responses. On here people are mentioning commenting it out, but again, nothing stating it's exact purpose.

If anyone knows, I'd be greatful if you could share. :)

By quickly browsing through the source code (/usr/local/cpanel/apache/mod_bwlimited.c) it seems like it checks if BW limit is exceeded and if yes, spits out &509 Bandwidth Limit Exceeded& error page instead of the content reguested.
