I realize this is an unusual need, but is it possible to install nginxadmin so instead of proxying apache on another port, it installs as a different IP while leaving apache port 80 alone?

ie. I do not want to reverse proxy, just take advantage of the nice nginxcp bundle/control panel and run nginx on another IP

Currently the createvhosts.py uses the ip of the passedip variable for the proxy_pass lines aww. You could modify that to another variable and set that variable manually either via commandline switch or just setting it as a constant.

hostnex - this looks like an xml issue from the api call to get sub/parked/addon domains. Generally this is due to odd issues with your userdata files. From experience, generally things like having certain subdomains listed on multiple accounts etc. Unfortunately there's no easy fix for this. It takes a bit of experience with this app and a lot of experience with how the userdata files should be laid out. Maybe your web host can help or you can find someone to do the install at a cost?

I tried installing on 3 servers and none of them started apache.

So I bought a license on a website for $ 5 monthly and worked perfectly on all my servers.

Thank you but this version dont work.

THIS VERSION CAN DO NOT START APACHE.

    TESTED IN 3 SERVERS.

Wondering if this works with the "current" cPanel and with someone who may have been using Apache 2.4

My only problem in the past with nginx (without cPanel) was having to always update the config file for every re-write rule change I ever made for my forum. Seems like installing or un-installing an add-on meant having to change re-write rules each time. That is where Apache seems to win all the time. I set it and forget it.

So with this merged into cPanel .... How does this handle php re-write rules? Or must someone always tweak it?

Hi Yah, Just been doing a quick scan on server optimising & seen this thread referenced a couple of times. Before I go wading through the 52 pages in this thread can someone let me know the following:

    1. Server I'm looking at installing has the following: Apache, Fast-CGI with Xcache - Is nginx compatible with that config ?
    2. Shared server - about 8 different IP's being used - Is nginx compatible with that config ?
    3. Mixture of sites, static, magento, joomla, wordpress & drupal - Is nginx compatible with that config ?
    4. How much of a speed increase can customers expect to see with nginx loaded ?

While I wait for a reply I'll start reading :)

    Thanks in advance

I wonder why cPanel does not officially support NGINX since it smokes Apache miles away,...

You can use nginx with this environment Apache, Fast-CGI with Xcache but mostly nginx used to serve static content like images, jpg, etc.

Nginx compatible for all the CMS but it will most useful when you have large image websites.
