    Default Webmail Login

    Hi,

Is there anyway to make Squirrelmail the default webmail client?
I've already disabled Horde & Neomail in whm.

What I want is, when someone goes to http://www.8inet.com/webmail, and entered their login info, they're directly forwarded to Squirrelmail's inbox, instead of having to click on the Squirrelmail icon.

    Thanks,

No. You should submit feature request to cPanel.

    Here is one possibility:

    1. Create a subdomain (webmail.domain.com)

    2. put an index file in the webmail directory that has a frame inside. The src of the frame should point to:

    http://domain.com:2095/3rdparty/squi.../src/login.php

    or

    https://domain.com:2096/3rdparty/squ.../src/login.php

    3. Done

yes... you can change the dir routing in htconf file... pretty easy actually.
Just the other thing is that you have to supply a link so they can get into the pasword change function or figure out another way to do it.

    how i did it:

    made an alias - /squirrel/

I installed my own version of squirrelmail. That way, i solved a few problems:

-no problem with firewall, as access to webmail is now on port 80, not 2095/6.
-i can modify squiirelmail as i want (themes, plugins, logging of logins)
-i always have the newest version, and i don;t have to worry cpnale will update and destroy all mi customization

    root@server [/usr/local/cpanel/base/webmail/x]#
    ./ ../ css/ footer.html header.html images/ style.css
    root@server [/usr/local/cpanel/base/webmail/x]#

    adding:

    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="0;URL=3rdparty/squirrelmail/index.php">
