    Backups fail with 'transport error'

It has decided to generally work via sftp so I haven't re-opened the ticket. It either works fine or it will sit there until it times out having transferred precisely 0. This is even with a time out value of 8 hours. If it starts doing it continually again then I'll open a ticket and post it here.

OpenSSL Heartbleed Bug (< 1.0.1g) - Encryption keys at risk

So is OpenSSL 1.0.1e-fips 11 Feb 2013 vulnerable or not? Some say yes, others say not. I have tried the heartbleed test but it gives me an error: Uh-oh, something went wrong: tls: oversized record received with length 20291 I have done yum update, the cpanel system and server software update...

Block all local domain email not from my server.

I keep getting spam using my domain from address being sent to the same to address as that email account. I find this irritating. If I have all the server security/SPF/DKIM etc on why on earth is this rubbish not being rejected? It's clearly not from my server and my server is the ONLY...

    Backups fail with 'transport error'

They're broken again. More transport errors. Really not impressed with reliability of this back up system. This time it didn't transfer one of the files at all. warn [cpbackup_transporter] Upload attempt failed: Connection to remote server stalled at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/LoggerAdapter.pm...

    No cPanel backup via FTPS?

Are you using the key authentication or password authentication? Try the other if one isn't working. I always use the validate option to make sure it is ok. Check the server name as some of the ftp providers change the server name used for sftp usually just sftp.whoever.com instead of...

    Backups fail with 'transport error'

Opened a ticket to ask them to link it to the existing one. Cpanel people are on it :) Seems the problem was a basic school boy error with timeouts set in the backup configuration. I'm amazed the support I pay for didn't even work this out. Took the cpanel person about 2 minutes to see the...

    Backups fail with 'transport error'

Ticket number is apparently 4662797. Anyone know of any free ftp accounts with a few GB of space so they can test a different ftp space?? I'm amazed there isn't some kind of ftp test account. I suspect it's an issue with my ftp space but also an issue with cpanel not being able to resume...

    Backups fail with 'transport error'

I thought I had raised a ticket with cpanel when I first had the problem but I can't find record of it. It was over a year ago and I don't think there was a resolution as I switched to the legacy backup which worked fine. It seems to be an issue that pops up every now and then. But if the...

    Backups fail with 'transport error'

I've raised it with my VPS provider as I'd assume other customers will also have the same issue. I've asked for the ticket number with cpanel when it is passed up to them.

    Backups fail with 'transport error'

For some reason the new backup system in whm doesn't work properly with ftp. The old one was perfectly fine backing up into the same ftp space, along with various other systems. Every single log file has this 'transport error'. Unable to send “/backup/2014-03-13/accounts/serpop.tar.gz” to...

Dinged for NDR spam, how to prevent the body copy from included in the bounce?

Re: Dinged for NDR spam, how to prevet the body copy from included in the bounce? It's generally bulk marketing mails and forum software automatic subscriptions that are trapped by sender verify. You can add their smtp server ip into the whitelist so it won't check them. I have done that with...

Dinged for NDR spam, how to prevent the body copy from included in the bounce?

Re: Dinged for NDR spam, how to prevet the body copy from included in the bounce? For the non experts what are the recommended settings to have within the whm/exim basic configuration that will reduce the possibility of having fake senders and fake recipients being processed by your mail server...

Adding rules to spamassassin/configserver.cf have no effect.

When I look on my centos installation it tells me spamassassin is in /usr/local/bin I used the which command. Installing mailscanner may lead to spamassassin being moved elsewhere. Found on another forum that mailscanner could put them in: Try creating your rules in...

    Spammers Hijacking Email Accounts

I use SSL with ios. It does work but needs a kick in the pants to make it work. There seems to be some issue with certain imap settings, imap server types. It dislikes courier. I could never make it work with that. Switched to dovecot and it behaved. I'd have hoped man in the middle attacks...

    Spammers Hijacking Email Accounts

Blocking people from their email when they need it seems like a good way of cheesing off clients to me. Just changing them and leaving the rest of the system insecure is hopeless as you'll annoy people with password changes and they'll still have their email account compromised. To me a two...
