Yes I have already done this... That is how I updated my php version from
4.4.7 to 5.2.5 as well.
But it still didn't update the GD...
Yesterday I spent over 14 hours searching on how to get
GD support installed on my dedicated server.
I even updated from PHP...
This is not related to squirrel mail but it is related to locking the files as
mentioned in this post...
