Sorry, misread what you wrote.
I thought about doing something similar with EncFS but I agree, all bad workarounds. I hope cPanel get the bug causing this fixed as I've just left it as it is - incremental backups to a local folder.
I was able to get a CIFS share mounted using systemd on CentOS 7, however in the end I didn't use it as I was getting file/folder permission issues. SSHFS might be a better way to mount the share but I haven't looked into that yet.

yeh i got this EXACT same problem yesterday when i had just got my new server setup.
I created my first test account and it was given the main server IP, i tried all sorts of things but it wouldnt go away.

184.108.40.206 with the subnet 255.255.255.0 and set it as the default system ip and change all accounts over too it, when i access them from my pc i get the default cpanel page.

hey, im using cpanel on a vps installed on a server at work. the ip address given to the server is 220.127.116.11
but when i installed the vps (centos), my routers dhcp assigned the vps the ip 192.168.1.65
