Hello.
The issue of implementing a user php.ini by using FastCGI (Fcgid) in this Cpanel me back a little bit crazy.
The question is that following the manual and the post is in these forums, not that it is applied using a php.ini per user.
According manual y use...
I'm trying to move from CGI/suphp to FastCGI/suphp and while reading the EA3 documentation, i found the following two statements:
Before render our servers unusable, can someone explain what the above two statements mean? The documentation doesn't say how to properly configure everything, it...
I have compiled Apache and PHP with FastCGI support through EasyApache in order to have the security of running each script as the user, and better performance than suPHP.
However, now I only get a "Page cannot be displayed" error message in my browser when loading the PHP scripts. I have not...
I'm trying to setup FastCGI with apache 2.2 and php 5. It's on a VPS with only a few vhosts that will be running apps (drupal, etc) so I'm interested in performance gains of fcgi over cgi, however I don't want to deal with permissions and file ownership problems with mod_php.
So I have 2...
I've rebuilt Apache to include FastCGI and mod_fcgi, set PHP from DSO to FastCGI, but every site gives me a "Internal Server Error" message. Switching back to DSO and we're OK.
Is there something I've missed?
I'm not using SuPHP or mod_security, but I am using eAccelerator and Suhosin...
I'm hoping someone can help or even offer some advice.
We've been using suPHP without problems (using a php.ini file with an include_path set). I wanted to change to FastCGI(PHP) to benefit from some performance boost.
All seemed to work apart from the php.ini file that we were using...
Hello,
Is it possible to run fastcgi with suPHP. Were anyone able to do this on CPanel?
CGI + SuPHP uses a lot of resources.
And PHP ( DSO ) + Eaccelerator is extremeley insecure since you can read and/or delete files from all users ( read all files, delete only the ones with 777...
Where are the docs on this? The link to mod_fcgi in the easyapache 3 docs do not work. But like the 8,563 sites I visited, I suspect most of it wont work in the cPanel config.
I have apache 2.2, php 5 installed. By accident I foundn a script in /scripts that loads this:

I am upgrading an Apache 1.3 to 2.2 using the new Easy Apache for the first time. My reading on the cpanel support docs page makes me think that I would prefer not to use fcgid and fastcgi and just use suPHP instead.

I have a hosting solution which is running ,WHM 11.2.0, cPanel 11.6.0-R15076 on CentOS 4.3. Recently I rebuilt apache with PHP 5.2.3, suexec and php suexec and all seems to be running fine and I can see php process spawned under any given account username when their domains are accessed. However...
I'm looking to install FastCGI on a cPanel server for a client that's running MovableType, which was recently upgraded to make it fully FastCGI supported. Looking around the forums, I found the two following threads on how to install FastCGI:
http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?t=36713...
I get internal 500 errors on one particular server after going from php 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 (all modules the same except newer php version)

What is the fix for this?
Another problem with fastcgi...
Could someone please provide simple steps to install FastCGI? I've searched the forums and found nothing.
The official page is http://www.fastcgi.com/dist/mod_fastcgi-2.4.2.tar.gz and still others tell me that is only "apache part". I'm a bit lost on this.
I want to enable it and compile...
Hi, I planed to install fastcgi and mmcache to my apache server so it won't suck up the cpu usage so much on my cpanel server. If someone have succesfully installed fastcgi or mmcache, please share your experience. Please provide in edit and recompile apache steps.

I'm trying to Install FastCGI for RT. I've installed the Perl module. Seems that RT wants the FastCGI apache module. Will cpanel brake if I compile it? Will FastCGI brake during apache upgrades? What method of compiling is the best? APACI, manual, DSO?
