    Hello, as far as WHM/cpanel is concerned, can I use the same IP address for two different nameservers and is it as easy as editing /etc/nameserverips and reloading bind or is there a better way to accomplish this ?

    for example :
    I have ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com configured with 1.1.1.1 and 1.1.1.2
    can I just add ns1.anotherdomain.com and ns2.anotherdomain.com with the same IP addresses so the file would look something like this ?

    1.1.1.1=ns1.domain.com
    1.1.1.1=ns1.anotherdomain.com
    1.1.1.2=ns2.domain.com
    1.1.1.2=ns2.anotherdomain.com

    or would it be

    1.1.1.1=ns1.domain.com ns1.anotherdomain.com
    1.1.1.2=ns2.domain.com ns2.anotherdomain.com

    Thanks

    ip address

    I don't think you will be able to assign same ip address to two nameservers . The nameservers resolve the hostname into the ip address of the server

    yes you can.

    Just make sure you have "allow sharing nameserver ip's" ticket in WHM.

    And use the first method you've desicribed, each ip-ns pair on it's own line.

    OK, did this above. Added domains neofied.com, totaldisney.com and eyeondisney.com with NS1 and NS2 records for each. Made changes at Godaddy. Restarted. This is what I'm seeing upon restarted. Noted where it says "bad dotted quad." Also note the "long longer listening" ... are all these things normal?
