I have 1 email user on a cpanel account that CANNOT receive email, he can send but not receive. All other email accounts on his domain work, just not this single one.

What can i do to fix it?

You need to check what happens in the exim mainlog when an email is sent to the server as that is the first step to identifying where the problem may be.

Have a search for that error on the forum, there are a few current threads discussing that error and how to fix it.

    Similar problem

I am having a similar problem, but it seems that one domain's emails will not work.

Any email address I create on this domain (tridium-tech.com) fails to login. I am positive the login/pass are correct, but it will not connect to the server through Thunderbird or SquirrelMail even.

I created a new mail account on another domain just to make sure it wasn't a global problem, but I logged into that account with no problems.

I have tried restarting exim, IMAP, and POP already with no results.

Here is a clip of my exim_mainlog when I attempted to send an email to the address:

It looks like it delivered correctly?

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Tom

    Fixed!

Well I spent some more time tinkering last night and got it fixed.

I attempted to find the passwd file for the mail (I assumed there was one, I've never dealt with the mail system before hehe) and realized the symlinks in /etc/vmail were pointed to an old directory. I then realized I had this domain setup before on a different account! :(

When I removed the domain from the other account (which was probably 9+ months ago) it did NOT remove the symlinks to the passwd file in the account directory, which prevented creation of the symlink to the NEW passwd file. (Possibly a bug fixed in a later version of cPanel?)

Basically it was trying to auth against an old password, so I deleted the symlinks and recreated them pointed at the correct location... and that was it! :)

    Peace,
    Tom
