I get that the UX guys think this is fantastic, because they very likely are not hosts or server administrators. They don't know any better. But doesn't anybody at cPanel see this garbage and question it? I assume some people on the cPanel team are still server administrators or hosts and actually use their own product. Did they really think that these changes were positive for the product?

I literally do not have a single client who is happy with these changes...not one.

We also miss the filter too. I personally only used the filter and not the search in Paper Lantern.
For both cPanel and WHM, it's easier for users to filter so they can see where to find the icons.
Now we have to use the browser search to find out what section an icon is. Before we could use the filter.

PLEASE MAKE LOAD AVERAGES STAY ON ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we need to keep clicking on the icon to see the load averages, but they only take a snap shot and it's not active. so it might say 23 14 32 then we need to click again to see if it went up or down. not active.. please make this active at least so when we click on the little icon and it drops down its live and shows up the averages. not a snapshot only and we would need to click multiple times to get the drop down to see our servers avgs. please
this is a must to have it like like now in 100 and below versions.

really bad if they don't fix this

(Found it in Update Preferences)
in the new version of WHM, I do not see where I can change the release tier (LTS, Stable, Release, Current, Edge) on the upgrade page, or select automatic vs manual

I wouldn't use CURRENT, but must switch to Ubuntu, so i can't use Stable .
The new theme just sucks.
One big problem, the left menu is white on dark background, killing my eyes and i don't see a way to change it.
Left menu font size seems very big. On old theme if i collapsed all elements, almost could have everything displayed without touch mouse.
Also doesn't help on the new one, that if i expand and choose a link, it has the same color/size/everything like the categories. Old theme had different color/style .
I don't really any improvment, so for me is useless. I don't want to work from phone, so i don't care about any responsive arguments .

I've voted and commented in the feature request. Make Paper Lantern LTS at least until Jupiter is 100% consistent and mature

Just the number of requests and complaints in the threads alone should give the cPanel team the hint that Jupiter is NOT ready for prime time, and it won't for a long time. Let people beta test it, try it, sure. Don't force a half finished product on us - especially one without translations!

My host offers alternatives to cPanel. As much as I'd hate to have to go through the hassle of switching to one of those, if we're forced to switch to Jupiter and not allowed to keep Paper Lantern for at least the next year or two, I'll seriously consider bailing on cPanel. I agree with ALL of the comments here, and while it's nice that cPRex is passing them along to the UI team, there's no guarantee that they'll add back in functionality that they've already stripped away. Not having the ability to display load averages that periodically update is a deal killer. Not giving us the option of keeping Paper Lantern as long as we want/need it as a "classic" choice is a deal killer. Here's hoping that someone can get through to whomever is in charge of this clusterf*** and stop the Titanic from hitting the Jupiter-only iceberg.

Jupiter is the weakest pethetic design UI I've ever seen. It's plain, boring and just horrible.
Switching customers to it and I get emails, why have you changed us to this crap? Did you design this?

I very quickly changed them back and emphasised no I didn't design it. (I'm a designer and developer)
It's quite frankly embarrassing and makes our hosting company look like amatures. Just a page of boring text...

Sorry Cpanel, but this just isn't good enough. Ditching Paper Lanthern for this?! Remember, we pay a high price each month now, it's OUR customers who are using this.

Also, highlighting "build a website" and "Wordpress toolkit" on the left, the last thing soe of us want to do is push drag and drop crap!
And under "looking for something else" you couldn't make it up.... "Whyt is my website down?".... what are you trying to do to us?

I'm furious. I know there are many who raised concerns months ago and it looks like despite the huge price increases you just continue to ignore the feedback from users.

I have been cPanel / WHM user for years and this recent update is kind of off.

Some feedback which I guess would help team understand why old UX was better:

  • Load Averages: In old version, Top right area had clear information on Load averages and clicking on it would user to Process Manager. This helps to look into the issues in case the load is high. In new version, it's hidden and un-clickable.

  • News, Changelog: In old version, Checking latest news and changelog was just a click away, in the new version, I have no idea where it's hidden. This should be either in a sub menu or clearly visible somewhere.

  • Search location: In old version, search was neatly on the left side so user understands that it's going to search the left nav items and it's easier to navigate as it's on the same area as nav, no need to move mouse pointer much. In the new one, it's on the opposite side. This is a clear user experience issue. It should be ideally be on the left for ease of use.

  • Navigation Menu: In old version, the nav menu had perfect font sizes and clear demarcation of the collapsible menu items, selected nav items etc.. but in the new one, it's gone for a toss. It does not look polished, looks straight out of some default template of CSS boilerplate or something.

  • Design language: The design language is very different of the main overall skin and internal sections. Basically, the outer frame is changed and internal sections are left the way they were. Someone should look into it to ensure everything is of same design language.

I understand, the goal must be to keep it simple etc.. but it should not be done at the cost of user experience.

Also, last thing, when a huge UI/UX change is planned, it's always a good idea to provide option to revert back to old theme so this way, team will get sometime to improve new theme based on feedback and slowly deprecate old theme as new theme gets matured.

Hope this feedback helps in some way.

I would like to add one more thing.. if your a hosting company why would you want your users ti have links to cPanel knowledge base. as another mentioned most of the videos have the paper lantern showing so it would just confuse people and blow up the support channel from the users.

there really is no reason to make a change for the looks of things in a theme unless it was broken... or at least ask your customers first and let them vote what they want since we are paying for this service at an increased price... I would not want my customers to have links away from my hosting company taking them to cPanel. that's what our knowledge base is for. we should control what our clients see not cPanel. tyou pay for a service and it should be our deciding what customers can and can't view.

please stop messing around with your Customers, im sure lots of them split when the prices increased and changed.. and now its seems your going to get another whiplash of your customers switching to another because of these changes..

Are you not listening to your customers, just raising prices and making changes without consulting with us first?

this business model is getting to carried away.. I am also one that is seriously looking to move on and say goodbye because of all the nonsense...

plus to say the least, if you got your license from another provider, and not Directly from cPanel - ( whom is still getting paid from you via the provider for your license) you get garbage for support..

only if you pay cPanel directly do you get priority support.. WHAT??? this is insane.. we still are customers paying for it.. and it took 3 days to get a response in support for an issue I was having.. that really is the kicker there... why would I want to pay for cPanel license for my server and then get the shaft when it comes to support..

So now either I just convert my lic through cPanel so I can get Priority support or continue to be the last in line.
or move on and say goodby to cPanel and find another provider that cares for the paying customer and gives support at priority level to all the paying customers.

im just venting but seriously this is absurd., lately..
