1. I have a site that would like to use a wildcard sub domain it is a wordpress site and whenever you go to ff.domain.com for example you get an SSL error, the research I did says that a wildcard certificate would need to be installed but I believe what I read it will break subdomains like cpanel.domain.com.

What is the proper procedure for doing an ssl cert for a wildcard subdomain, I believe lets encrypt is the best source?

2. Regarding SSL providers for auto SSL are you allowed to only use 1 provider for the whole server or can you use a different provider for each account? Like for instance we have a customer that we migrated over that was using lets encrypt, when other providers were using the comodo provider.

Thank you for your time.

cPanel's AutoSSL service starts supporting Wildcard certificates using the Let's Encrypt Provider as of v84 of cPanel/WHM. This is detailed in our release notes here: 84 Release Notes - Version 84 Documentation - cPanel Documentation

Updates to the Let's Encrypt ™ plugin
In cPanel & WHM version 84, we updated the Let's Encrypt plugin to use Let's Encrypt's new API in anticipation of the original API's end of life. This will allow us to continue to support our users who rely on this plugin. This also allows us to accommodate the plugin for Let's Encrypt's rate limit changes. The rate limit is now 300 certificate orders every three hours. This update also allows the plugin to support wildcard domains.

You can only use one provider at a time, it would be unmanageable to try and use two separate providers.

Thank you for the update is there a documented procedure for setting up the wildcard cert and will it impact cpanel, etc... subdomains?
