2 servers updated tonight with failures, "scripts/mysqlconnectioncheck"

Tonight I had 2 servers return the exact same error on update:

Maintenance ended; however, it did not exit cleanly (256). The following events were logged: “scripts/mysqlconnectioncheck”. Review the update logs to determine why the update failed.

The output of the log states:

[2020-04-27 03:40:58 +0000] E [/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/mysqlconnectioncheck] The “/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/mysqlconnectioncheck” command (process 14145) reported error number 1 when it ended.

However, mysql appears to be running fine on both, and I never did get a services monitor alert about it. Anyone else experience this or know what it might be about? It only happened on 2 of the I think 8 servers that I currently monitor.
