httpd failed @ Sun Sep 17 01:41:34 2006. A restart was attempted automagicly.

If httpd fails, the first thing I do is go into shell and do
/usr/sbin/httpd configtest
to see if there is a problem with the httpd.conf file.

looks like you are running apache 2.x. Some may have no luck in running it which I believe is the cause of problems on your server. Check on the apache error_log and run the configtest as PWSowner suggested.
