A friend and I just got a dedicated server. When I create an account, it gives the name servers:

    ns.hisprimarydomainname.com
    ns2.hisprimarydomainname.com

hisprimarydomainname.com being his domain name that has more traffic.

I was wondering if it is possible to have the same for my domain name?

    ns.myowndomainname.com
    ns2.myowndomainname.com

I can't seem to figure out where or how in WHM I would do this. The docs just say "click here" "type in this info" "save changes" etc etc. Doesn't eally say what each setting does.

So far, my best guess I will have to set up my domain name with its own IP? We have 4 IPs to use so that's no problem. How is a nameserver registered? Is this done at my registrar (ie. GoDaddy)?

    Thanks

Just asign the nameservers with WHM, with there own IP's, then register the nameservers at Godaddy. About 2 days later it will work.

But where in WHM do I do this?

SERVER SETUP > EDIT SETUP > Primary/Secondary Nameserver

    already has

    ns.hisprimarydomainname.com
    ns2.hisprimarydomainname.com

There's room for a Third Nameserver and I suppose I can enter my info there, but what about for *my* second name server?

Also, where in GoDaddy do I register the nameserver? I can't find any damn place to do this.

Assign nameserver with "Manage assigned Nameserver Ips" right below Reseller Center.

At Godaddy, just click on the domain and near the bottom you will see "Domain Host Information (click here to add)". That's where you add the nameservers.
