I have a cpanel dnsonly server in my dns cluster that runs on CentOS6 32bit.
It has been announced that cpanel version 58 will not be compatible with 32 bit operating systems.

Will version 58 be incompatible with cpanel dnsonly running on top of 32bit operating systems as well?
How can I make my dnsonly server to stop installing major updates of cpanel and stay to v56 until april 2017 that it will reach it's eol ?

Hello,

Yes, the requirements of CentOS 6 or higher, and a 64-bit OS, apply to all versions of cPanel 58.

You can change the update settings on DNS-Only systems by manually editing the /etc/cpupdate.conf file via SSH. The possible values available to you are documented at:

The cPanel & WHM Update Configuration File — /etc/cpupdate.conf

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks!

The update system is smart enough to not install a build that is not 32bit compatible. There is no need to change the update settings to prevent updating.
