    Hi There

One of my clients told me today that the custom error messages are not working, and lo and behond I could not get them to work.

On one of the test accounts, I just entered a test string into the custom 404 error page after clicking on "error pages" from cpanel. It saved as 404.shtml. Then when I try to geenrate a 404 error, the default 404 error page shows up:

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

    thanks

    Roy

If the browser is IE, it has a minimum size requirement. If error pages are too small, it doesn't seem to find them. Try putting a little content on the 404 page and if it still doesn't show, it could be missing lines in the httpd.conf file.

Btw, the default extension for error pages is shtml.
