451 error

    I'm getting this error on one particular domain:

    'user@domain.com' on 10/27/2005 3:55 PM
    451 Temporary local problem - please try later

    I've tried the following:

    /scripts/mailperm
    /scripts/eximup --force
    /scripts/fixcommonproblems

    The logs show this:

    2005-10-27 15:28:24 H=dhcp-0-204-192-145-200.worldbank.org (siu52hwbj4n6cv75m4.awesomenessesz.org) [204.192.145.200] F=<efl7boz5w3.yu-tmc54gvma4bary@awesomenessesz.org> rejected RCPT <gboone@userdomain.com>: dhcp-0-204-192-145-200.worldbank.org (siu52hwbj4n6cv75m4.awesomenessesz.org) [204.192.145.200] is currently not permitted to relay through this server. Perhaps you have not logged into the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP Authentication turned on in your email client.

    Another error:

    DNS / mx is all fine and default as should be. Strange.

    Fixed.

    Some reason domain was missing from /etc/localdomains.

    hey ive the same problem !
    "451 Temporary local problem - please try later" How can i fixed that ?

    Try restarting exim

    1- Make sure that the domain.com with the problem is in /etc/localaliases. You also need to run /scripts/fixvaliases and then /scripts/mailperm

    2- It could be a DNS/NS problem.

    3- Investigate further, look at your /var/log/exim_maillog

    Secret Agent read the error message you posted, "Perhaps you have not logged into the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP Authentication turned on in your email client."

    This error is self-explanatory. Did you check the box next to "Myserver requires password authentication" in the server tab of Outlook/Express?

    Solved!

    I had the same problem too and looked for the domain on the file /etc/localdomains, and as expected, it was missing... so I backed the file up, added the domain to the list, and after that it worked again like a charm. I didn't even had to restart exim. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! YOU SAVED ME TONS OF WORK! :D
