Hi,

Getting this when sending to one domain on a server.

SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>:
host address.net [ip.ip.ip.ip]: 550-"The recipient cannot be verified. Please check all recipients of this
550 message to verify they are valid."

/etc/localdomains is fine

I've run all the ususal scripts - no joy. I've reinstalled exim - no joy.

The exim log says simply rejected RCPT <[email protected]>:

Any ideas ?

Go on, have a guess
(changed my mind)

Does the recipient domain exist in /etc/localdomains? Does the account actually exist on the server for the local part of the address?

Hi,

Yes, the account is fine and the doman is in localdomains.

Interestingly, I'm now getting...

SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>:
host hisdomain.net [ip.ip.ip.ip]: 550-any.server.com [ip.ip.ip.ip] is currently not permitted to
550-relay through this server. Perhaps you have not logged into the pop/imap
550-server in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP Authentication turned on
550 in your email client.

Edit..

Obviously the above error makes no sense as it is occurring when anyone sends email to the address in question. The sender is authenticating fine with their smtp server.
