Hello

I am running into an odd problem. None of my clients have problems receiving emails at their domain names. However, there is one client that cannot receive any emails through our server.

The client's email is [email protected], and any emails sent to this address are bounced back immediately. This is the error:

Technical details of permanent failure:
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 9): 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

I get this error message when I try to send him emails with outlook/gmail/yahoo mail. It bounces back immediately.

Does anyone have any ideas why I am getting this error?

thanks

Roy

Go on, have a guess
You'll need to check in /var/log/exim_mainlog and note the errors/messages that appear when you send an email into the server. IF nothing shows up, it's not getting to the server and so is likely to be a DNS issue.

Hi

I sent an email and checked the log, and there was no difference.

If it is a DNS issue, how would I resolve it?

thanks

Looking at the DNS for jordan.co.in:

jordan.co.in resolves to 64.127.105.172

However, the MX record resolves to mail.rediffmailpro.com which resolves to 203.199.83.202

If those IP addresses are not on the same server, then that's probably where the problem is.

If that setup is correct, is jordan.co.in in your /etc/localdomains file?
