Ok so we all know the support is in cpanel to enable LONGUSERS, the environment variable is in wwwacct, preforming a grep says that crpsrvd and whostmgr2 contain the string LONGUSERS as well. Obviously the support is there in cPanel, but there seems to be no accurate reference to the correct way of turning it on. Anybody managed to get it turned on?

Actually MySQL usernames by default are limited to 16 characters not 8. Is it safe to modify wwwacct to change the max to 16 from 8 or is this going to cause problems?

Most buggiest system 8 char limit

I don't know why everybody asking for cPanel is Hosting, whereas I found it most buggiest system then any other, the 8 character user name is too much panic mostly when we transfer accounts from other system.
