I have read a couple different threads on this. Some people are saying that my data center needs to setup or delegate rDNS authority for me. Others are saying they have nothing to do with it and I just need to create an rDNS zone record.

    So, which is it?

    Thanks :)

    Depends on data center

This depends entirely on whether your data center has delegated reverse DNS authority to your server or not. Most data centers do not delegate this authority, so you must ask them to set reverse DNS records for you. However, some providers, in some situations, will delegate the authority.

You need to ask your data center specifically whether they have delegated reverse DNS authority to your server. If they have not, they will need to make any reverse DNS changes for you.
