    Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in starting a list of spammer email addresses on our "Boxtrapper" black list?

We could have this thread as a sticky if cpanel.net will allow it and everyone post the list of email addresses on our blocked list...

I am so sick of getting the stupid porn offers and viagra offers it is driving me nuts. If we all compile a huge list and continue to update it I think we can all only benefit from it...

If cpanel.net can give me the OK on this I will post my huge list on my block list here..

errmm... you're trying to block spam based on the from email address???

That's going to be a very very very very long list... as spammer's have essentially an infinite supply of from addresses... since they use totally fake addresses, stolen addresses of other innocent people, and, more rarely, their own addresses.

Not a good idea, IMHO. You won't stop much spam at all, and you have a high chance of blocking desirable email.

Use an RBL with exim (still subject to a number of errors, but easy and low maintenance), or setup proper spam filtering (preferably with Bayesian or comparable technology) on your server, (I use ASSP for my spam filter, fairly easy to setup and run, and more controllable/customizable than an RBL).
