Dear Friends, I have a Problem with my Mail Server since 2 days ago.
I saw a caution in my server Cpanel about "UW-imapd Mailbox Name Parsing Buffer Overflow Vulnerability" then I click on link in that message.
Start to convert ,and back up the my existing mailboxes before converting.
It was about 48 Hours ago!
But now when I log in my Mailboxes, I see this Note in my left menu:
    ------
ERROR : Could not complete request.
    Query: CREATE "Sent"
    Reason Given: Invalid mailbox name.
    -------
But in some mail boxes its OK, but There is no message in folders and Subfolders.
But In WHM, Mail Account Maintenance; When I check Quota of mails, It shows that there are about XX.XX Meg, Mails in my InBox!!!!

Me and my customers cant access to our Archived mails
    in our Folder and subfolders.

you can see what I dad to Produce this Error:

    Step2: http://www.mehrfar.net/2.htm
    Step3: http://www.mehrfar.net/3.htm
    Step4: http://www.mehrfar.net/4.htm

What is the relation between httpd.conf, named.conf, and the mail. I think you should have someone managing your server. Anyway please check cd ~username/mail/domainname.com. You can see corresponding mail boxes there.

/usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf is your webserver(Apache) configuration file
    /etc/named.conf is BIND's configuration file
/etc/pro-ftpd.conf is the config file for pro-ftpd FTP SEVRER
/etc/pureftpd.conf is the config file for pureftpd FTP SEVRER

In addendum to aby's reply, you will find the directory for each email account in the ~username/mail/domainname.com. i.e If you have an email account info@domainname.com then you will find the directory "info" at ~username/mail/domainname.com. Inside "info" you will find inbox file and other files that contains your emails.

If the maildir conversion failed you should be able to get support directly from cPanel, in what way did cPanel not provide you with support for this? Did you follow the suggestions and links in the WHM message to get support for the issue?

Tip of the day: Nobody likes people who ask for support in multiple areas, thus tying up multiple streams of support.....

If cPanel support is helping you and asked you to do something, I rather advise you to do it and let them know the results.

People responding on the forum may come up with a lot of good ideas-- and frankly, I have found answers to many of my problems here-- but given a choice between official support and forum support, I think I'd go with the cPanel staff...

But maybe that's just me... Or do you think the forums are an official support method? Because if you do, you haven't read the FAQ, and are being irresponsible.

    Ishware ,
Thank you very much for your good advice.
but cPanel support team is so slow, I send a support ticket at Friday morning, but they answer me
2-3 times a day, and didnt solve my problem.
I have some customers in my server that need to their mails.

I want solve as fast as.

    Thank you very much.

If you need fast support then you're going to have to hire a server admin to help you who has experience with the issue. The best people for that are cPanel at present. The forums is not the place to seek urgent support.

I looks like to me that your mail is on the server. Have you tried using pop or imap with a external mail client like many of your clients would be doing anyway?

[ if ] folders were properly converted, you will be able to re-subscribe to them via Squirrel Mail -> click on Folders -> select folders from menu box on the right -> hit subscribe -> refresh the folders.

We have had almost all client's folders, installed on different server, not subscribe after conversion. The amount of tickets from the users is astonishing. I wonder why conversion scripts did not subscribe the folders by default????

I think it's having something to do with naming conventions on folders. I am also seeing flat mail files that were not converted.
