    I am a novice and I don't know what I am doing.

On my server on one of the accounts is a Domain with some sub-domains and add-on domains.

I have a forum as one of the add-on domains.

I have long wanted to move it into it's own account.

I recently bought vBulletin and changing the forum from SMF.

Now I am wondering if I can move this to a new account as part of this upgrade.

Here is my game plan....tell me what is wrong with it.

I will create a test account and test domain. Work on the new forum and move the data and get test the forum. When I think the new forum is good will it be possible to switch the domains around and change the account name?

Thanks for any help you can give.

    Thanks
    Jon

I believe it's a good idea to start with a test account to determine how successful the data migration will be and what to expect during the change of forums software.

In terms of modifying an account domain name and username this is possible via the following menu path in WHM:
WHM: Main >> Account Functions >> Modify an Account
