    Is anyone aware of an add-on for cPanel which would allow users to CHOWN files / folders within their public_html directory to their user. For example, click a button in the file manager and everything under public_html gets recursively chown'd user:user?

    We don’t run phpsuexec for various reasons and as such have to handle a fair number of CHOWN requests for customers. It would be great if customers could handle these themselves. I have had it mentioned to me that other control panels support this.

    This script will do what you need. Run it as a cronjob and never worry about it. I run this daily myself.

    #!/bin/bash
    cd /var/cpanel/users
    for user in *
    do
    chown -R $user.$user /home/$user/public_html/*
    done
