    Hello,

we have installed jakarta-tomcat-5.5.9 on our CentOS linux server . We are facing some problem with this.

the tomcat service stops every day. everyday means everyday. I cannot trace out the reason.

After that i kill all the java process. then i go to
/usr/local/jakarta/tomcat/bin and run the script shutdown.sh . and after 5 minutes i run the script startup.sh to start the tomcat.

I have to do this everyday. I don't know the reason for tomcat going down. the client of server call us everyday for this reason.

    So please suggest me ...

    thanks for all your help.

What time of day is it failing and are you getting email failure notices?

The servers are placed in California, USA. So this tomcat service is stopped around 1500hrs to 1700hrs(according to california time).

Does the time makes any difference here ??????

Sure, cronjobs, other user scripts , perhaps something along that line is crashing it. Did you look through the catalina logs? They would usually give a good error report before the failure.
