Dear all,

I have a question about leaving a copy of messages on server and remove from server after * days.
The situation is:
1. I am using the forwarder to connect two of my POP3 emails with my personal email.
2. I never use outlook, windows mail or even my Mac OS X Mail (I am using Mac in office).
3. I only check my personal email via Mac.
4. Two of my POP3 email is alerting me "almost full".

I know the function about "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message" for Mac OS X Mail, and "Remove from server after * days" for Outlook or Windows Mail.
I don't want to create these accounts (2 POP3 mails) in my Mac OS X Mail.
But, I want to remove copy from server after 14 days.

What can I do without create the account in Max OS X Mail or Outlook? Thanks.

Hello :)

You would have to download the messages with some type of email client if you want the messages removed from the server. You could even access Webmail and delete the messages manually if you prefer. You could also setup a cron job to remove emails, but then you would be deleting emails that you might not have read.

Thank you.

Hellp :)

I know that I can do it manually. But, my boss don't have time to do this (or you can say that he will forget to delete).
Do you have any method for automatically delete the mail after x days in Cpanel?
Thanks.

There are no native features in cPanel that will automatically delete emails. There's an option to remove mail from the "Trash" directory after a set time period under "WHM Home » Service Configuration » Mailserver Configuration", but that does not apply to new emails. You would have to setup a cron job to remove the delivered emails from the "cur" directory (e.g. /home/$username/mail/$domain/$email-address/cur).

Thank you.
