Anyone else try the access control? I have two IPs up for allow with all deny for FTP. It was initially setup for pureftpd so I switched to proftpd wondering if pureftpd still does not have ACL support. Unfortunately with proftpd none of the user accounts worked even with the ACL removed and password resets so I moved back to pureftpd.

    Anyone know anything about this?

    Anyone?

Should I just submit a support ticket?

Slow down and back up there a minute ---

    A) What are you "trying" to do exactly?

    B) Unless there is a real need to do so, you should not be on Proftpd
and should go back to pure-ftpd

    C) You have not said much about what you do have configured so would
be difficult to say at this point what you might be doing wrong.

Yes, as clearly explained I was using pureftpd but proftpd has had access control support for some time.

"I have two IPs up for allow with all deny for FTP."

Pureftpd is used, access control is enabled with two lines allowing ips proceeding with another line with a deny all. It is not working. Any IP is able to use FTP at this time.

Is there some particular reason that you aren't using either your firewall or hosts.allow to restrict the IPs from FTP since those would both seem to be the more logical places to do that?

As this is FTP specific, administrative work would be considerably simpler if ACLs worked properly.

Your replies at no time refer to the actual issue of ACLs not functioning properly.
