Access Log not showing real data

    When I run this command:
    tail -f /usr/local/apache/logs/access_log

    All I get is this
    127.0.0.1 - - [31/Dec/2012:17:22:42 -0600] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 -
    127.0.0.1 - - [31/Dec/2012:17:22:42 -0600] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 -
    127.0.0.1 - - [31/Dec/2012:17:22:45 -0600] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 -
    127.0.0.1 - - [31/Dec/2012:17:22:48 -0600] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 -
    127.0.0.1 - - [31/Dec/2012:17:22:48 -0600] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 -


    Questions:
    1. Why so many local host requests?
    2. None of my other apache request are showing, I visit my site and cant see my IP show up. My websites have at least 20 K visits a day, but nothing shows up in access logs

    Look in:
    /usr/local/apache/domlogs/yoursitesdomain.com
