Account Backups via SSH + LiveCD

Hi
I have a server which isn't booting. Kernel problem.

I've booted into live Cd and mounted the drives.. and now i'm trying to backup a few accounts which I don't have.

I run ./pkgacct username but the cp-move.tar.gz file ends up being empty.

Any ideas?
