    You need to check for errors in the cPanel error log, i.e. /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log

    Net::AIM

    The CAPS are important.

    Simpler might be to do it from SSH logged in as root:

    /scripts/perinstaller Net::AIM

    I have the same exact problem on a new server at EV1. I can neither add an account nor restore an account. And, the cpanel error_log has the following error message at the end:
    (file " /scripts/safeperlinstaller" line 8)
    Can't locate Net/AIM.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0 /usr/lib/p$
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /scripts/cPScript/iContact.pm line 14.
    Compilation failed in require at /scripts/wwwacct line 18.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /scripts/wwwacct line 18.
    I installed Net::AIM, but it made no difference, so I tried to reinstall cPanel with the following:
    m -f /usr/local/cpanel/cpanel
    /scripts/installgd
    /scripts/cleanmd5
    /scripts/upcp
    I also tried running wwwacct standalone and got the following message:
    root@server [/home]# /scripts/wwwacct
    Can't locate Net/AIM.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0 . /scripts /scripts /scripts /scripts /scripts /scripts) at /scripts/cPScript/iContact.pm line 14.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /scripts/cPScript/iContact.pm line 14.
    Compilation failed in require at /scripts/wwwacct line 18.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /scripts/wwwacct line 18.
    Nothing I did made any difference. And, I got a failure message at the end of the installgd, so I wasn't very hopeful that this would work. I seem to be missing a lot of Perl modules and who knows what else. Any suggestions?

    myce, u could try a /scripts/upcp --force

    this can steadily dissolve some of the dependency errors.

    Ok, I ran /scripts/upcp --force as you suggested and saw errors related to Net::AIM, which I re-installed 3 times both in WHM and SSH. Also errors for an assortment of issues, including DBD::mysql (which I also reinstalled earlier). Here is a sampling at the tail end:

    As you can see, I'm still getting error messages, even though they are for recently reinstalled, Perl modules.

    Out of curiosoty, are those that are experiencing the problems mentioned in this thread hosting at EV1?

    I just got a new box at ev1 and I am experiancing the same problems. Net/AIM.pm can not be found.

    Installing via the WHM did not work and using cpan just gives more perl errors. So is Perl botched?

    Something is hosed up. Put in a ticket and EV1 will fix it for you. But, be sure to describe the problem and tell them that your installs didn't work. They'll have it fixed for you.

    Yeah, we got it fixed by them. Aparently it was a bug in the cPanel install script or something along those lines.

    try /usr/local/cpanel/bin/checkperlmodules
    then check for any perl errors on the following
    /usr/local/cpanel/cpanellogd

    If that does fix it what does the following output?
    perl -v
