When a customer of ours (a reseller) creates an account for his clients (end users), our hostname is mentioned on the subject of the email that our clients' clients receive.

Is there any way for his clients to receive a custom subject as opposed to ours?

WHM, I believe, sends an email only to the account owner, i.e. the reseller, and root.

Are you using any 3rd party accounting/billing software?

I don't know what my resellers use. However, doesn't that email get sent to the "contact email" of the account in WHM? wouldn't that be the end user client email?

Nope, no email is sent to the contact email when creating an account. Automatic emails to the end user require an addon or postwwwacct script.
