Does terminating an account remove all the daily/weekly/monthly backups at the same time?

Is there a log kept of terminated accounts? If so where would I look please.

    Thanks,
    Steve

No backups are removed. You'd take care of that manually.

No backups are removed. To check the termination of the account you can check the logs from the below location:

    /var/cpanel/accounting.log

Backups are not removed logically because what if the reason you need the backup is because you accidentally removed the account? ;)

If you want to cleanup backups, you can script that easy enough.

We use a cronjob that looks for backups that have not been updated in 30+ days and then checks to see if the account still exists (thus why it's not updated) and then removes the backups if the login is also missing from /var/users/cpanel and from /etc/passwd.

That's a good idea. Care to share the script?

    Solution

When ever you terminate the account from server it will only terminating the hosting account from server and you can check the termination logs for that particular hosting account by using following command from command line.

Note: To check the logs for terminated account you need root login details.
