I have just transferred a whole server of accounts to another server via copying the necessary files via shell - (Account copy don't work on my machines for me)

Problem is all the accounts are there when quereing DNS zones etc but the accounts are not listed when clicking list accounts within WHM.

I've obviously missed something here but can't put my finger on it - anyone help?

I've added and edited the /usr/local/cpanel/root.accts and all the reseller.accts but still the accounts don't show up in WHM.

I can see them in just about every other function ie edit dns, change ownership, change IP etc....

thanks for any assist.

Thanks for that but I have already got accounts on the server and don't want to muck things up with the existing ones.

i know it's in /var/cpanel/ now but am only having success deleting the accounts and then setting them up again, untarring again :-(

Any more thoughts?

Cheers

The problem is with groups I think, i can see that the user and group for the /home/user/ directories are wrong but I cannot change the user or group permissions for each directory.... I just keep deleting them and adding the acount again..... any help?

Basically the user permissions are wrong but the group permissioins are correct... I can't chown them to

chown user file

They won't change even as root.

tired of deleting accounts now.. :)

OHHHHHH I forgot to tell you. Go to delete a DNS zone. If you see a bunch of www.domains.com then that is causing the problem with dns. For some reason the account copy makes 2 zone files per account. For example domain.com and www.domain.com . Delete the www.domain.com ones and dns problems will be gone. Make sure to restart bind after.

Thanks all for the tips, I had problems with permissions, all the accounts permissions were all over the place, running under different user names , instead of user user the file permissions were running as someotheruser user - I could not get anything to work correctly so ended up just deleting the accounts and re-installing them. I tried updateuserdomains but nothing I did would correct the permission problems :-(

If only account copy would have worked lol
