Access to cPanel is not possible since installing SSL cert

The owner of the domain used to access cPanel via https://sub.domain.com:2083. Now sub.domain.com also has a valid SSL certificate from a CA. But since installing the SSL cert from the CA, acess to cPanel is not possible.

Using Firefox, user visits https://sub.domain.com:2083 and accesses cPanel after usual certificate warning, adding exception, permanently storing and confirming the exception.

This works as long as user does not visit the actual site https://sub.domain.com. Once the domain itself is visited, https://sub.domain.com:2083 does not work anymore and access to cPanel control panel is not possible. The usual certificate warning is given, but "Confirm exception" button does not do anything.

I can repeat this beahaviour. I create a new Firefox profile and visit the cPanel URL: https://sub.domain.com:2083 and access the cPanel control panel after confirming certificate warning. Then I visit the site itself: https://sub.domain.com. Now when I try to access cPanel again get the cert warning but "Confirm exception" button does not do anything.

Nothing changed on WHM setup, and this does not happen in Internet Explorer 8,9 or Chrome 13,14. So I believe it is a problem with Firefox. I suggested the owner of the domain change the browser but this was not possible due to unrelated issue (has no admin permissions on the machine used).

Has anyone any suggestion how can I fix this issue? Thanks.

Thanks but this does not work either. As soon as the domain itself is accesed Firefox's cert warning page is crippled. Seemingly this is a bug with firefox as all other browsers behave fine. so they wil jst have to switch browsers if they want continued access..

If you have direct root SSH and root WHM access, please open up a ticket in WHM > Support Center > Contact cPanel or using the link in my signature for us to try to replicate this behavior to investigate further. Please post the ticket number here upon submitting one.
