I have a wild card certificate from Digicert for *.domain.name. I installed it in WHM just fine. Now, how do I enable it for some sub-domians of domian.name? I'm currently doing it by building a /var/cpanel/userdata/user/domain.name_SSL file for each sub that I want to use the certificate. Isn't there a way to do this via cpanel?

cPanel does not currently support creating these for subdomains. There has been a script developed at this location:

Wildcard SSL Installation Script :: The cPanel Admin

You might try using it to make it easier for installing the SSLs. You might even tie into the script as a hook at the end of subdomain creation if you want every subdomain on that domain that gets created to have a wildcard SSL on it.
