Add ftp user

    Hello there im running freebsd 5.3 and pureftpd

    i wish to add an ftp account so that i can access /root/hlds

    i have been looking everywhere and i can't find anything.

    i have tried useradd and stuff like that but nothing works

    any help would be a plus

    Yes i would like to get an FTP account for the root user.

    I need it to edit the skeleton directory or is that done in another way?

    You should never ever give root FTP access, it's a huge security risk. If you want to use FTP use SFTP (FTP over an SSH connection) with a tool such as WinSCP or Filezilla (both free).
