Add Second subnet & Gateway

    Ok here is the question,

    Have a server that has 8 IP addresses on it used all the IP and need more got more of them now but they have a different subnet and gateway.


    Here is what i need to know

    How to add the second subnet
    How to add the second gateway

    O yeah and they both have to work on just one NIC

    If anyone can help that would be great NEED HELP ASAP. THANKS TO ANYONE THAT HELPS.

    :eek: To the best of my knowledge, two gateways on one NIC is not possible - sorry.

    The gateway is set at the router of your network.

    So if you are renting a dedicated server from a hosting provider , then the subnet and gateway would have been set by your provider all ready.

    You can easily install the other IPs from different c-class on your server then without having to worry about the routing , as this would have been setup by your dedicated server provider allready.
    You just need to ask them about the gateway IP which is usually 123.456.678.1 and the subnet is usually 255.255.255.0
