hello, Im wondering if it is possible to do the following.

    i have 20 sites and 10 ips.

1 shared ip and 9 extra.

    I have maindomain.compointed at the sharedip(of course)

i have added domain1 to domain9 under the same cpanel user.
I want to assign the 9 different domains to the remaining 9 ips.

Now i have tried this and have had conflicting help from my service provider and have even been told its not possible...though im pretty damn sure it is.

Ive been told conflicting informaation on which dns record to edit, and to edit the httpd.conf and also been told not to by another support advisor.

so i thought id ask you guys

    ok so first off...

where do i edit the ip correctly?

do i go---> whm--edit dns zone, and edit the record for the main domain and edit the sub a record or do i edit the zone record for the domain1 it self..or both?

then do i need to edit the httpd.conf or can i leave the virtual ip address as the main shared ip or modify it to the desired site ip?

so once ive done that properly Id like to stack another 10 sites accross those ips again.

currently ive got one site ie(domain1)pointed to another ip address but when i add another site under the same extra ip adresss ie (domain 11) i am seeing domain 1.

i dont care what the problem might be.i would just like to know the correct way about setting up the ips.

as my vps support is sh*t!
    thanks very much!!

not that difficult I will asume its a cpanel addon domain

edit the virtual host container in your httpd.conf with the ip that you want to use for the domain in question

    restart apache

then edit your DNS zone to match

    now that wasn't difficult :D
    not posible hmmm
Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...
