I keep getting this non descriptive error every time I try to add an email for a cPanel account.

Any idea what could be the cause?

    Hello @DWHS.net,

It looks like the error message was moderated. Could you post the output from /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log when you encounter the error message, or let us know the message that appears in the UI?

    Thank you.

Sorry it was too long ago, I don't remember what the issue was or solution. Maybe if I saw the image :)

That's right, they overwritten the config files in the root of the account's cPanel.

I had to run the email permissions fix several times rebooting exim in between. For some reason one time didn't do it.

    Hello,

Do you know which particular configuration files were overwritten or removed?

    Thank you.

I don't sorry. To be honest we might of done more to fix it, I don't fully remember anymore.

I know it took a lot of time and work to trouble shoot but ended up being a pretty easy fix.
