Facing an error while creating addon domain in a cPanel account, domain is using DNS servers that do not belong to your server.
Error:
Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server. Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers or have your administrator add one of its nameservers to /etc/ips.remotedns and make the proper A entires on that nameserver

Hi @AndrewN

It sounds like the DNS for the domain you're adding doesn't point to the server. If this is intentional you can enable the following setting at WHM>>Server Configuration>>Tweak Settings -> Domains

Allow Remote Domains -> On

Thanks!

I'm getting the same error. Both domains are in my dns servers and resolve to the same IP number.
I'm trying to add an alias. The first domain is fine. I want add a second domain that resolves to the same website.
When I try to add the alias I get the following error:

"Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server.
Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers or have your administrator add one of its nameservers
to /etc/ips.remotedns and make the proper A entries on that remote nameserver."
which is wrong.

Without knowing the domain name I can't tell you why it's not seeing that the domain resolves to your server. What I can tell you is that allowing remote domains in tweak settings (as explained in this thread previously) should resolve the issue for you.

Thanks!
