Hello - hope you're well.

I'm able to login to my-domain.tld/cpanel. This is an addon domain on my cPanel account.

After I login, I go to the file manager to upload files to the domain.

BUT. I can't find the domain anywhere. Not in public_html, not anywhere. I can see several of my other addon domains there.

The root of public_html isn't the root of the domain. There is already an index.html file in there, but currently, when I visit my-domain.tld, I see an "index of" page (I haven't uploaded anything yet).

I have been using cPanel for almost 15 years, and I have never come across this.

I may be missing something simple here.

Any help is appreciated.

When you go to cPanel -> Domains -> Addoon Domains do you see the addon domain there?
If you see you see the document root of it.

It's possible the domain has been added as an alias instead of an addon domain.

Mystery solved:

When I visited my-domain.tld/cpanel, I entered the login credentials of one of my cPanel accounts that didn't have my-domain.tld added as an addon domain.

I mistakelnly thought that my-domain.tld/cpanel was the login URL to the specific cPanel account that includes my-domain.tld as a main or addon domain.

I had no idea any cPanel user can login on any cPanel URL on a specific server, if they provide a correct combination of username and password.

Thanks!
