    Hello,

I note this seems to be an old issue. I am just wondering if it has been fixed or will it ever be fixed. I note threads seem to be left unanswered. This is a serious Bug and perhaps my issue is not related.

Centos 4.5 server. I had to do a emergency move over the weekend and any users with addon domains seems to have lost them in the move. I have these errors when using the cpanel move utility.

I would say this is a BUG.

    WHM 11.2.0 cPanel 11.6.1-C15252

    Help!!!

Its stressful enough having to stay up all night but even worse when faced with issues like this.

I will try a full backup and then a restore from backup next. Perhaps the logic is better there.

    I am that desperate.

    Thanks!!

    Francesca

I recommend to everyone that if you ever encounter an urgent technical issue you need resolved then submit a ticket.

If you get your cPanel licenses through a reseller, try them first. Often if they can't get an issue resolved, they can contact our staff directly to work out the issue.

    Hi,

Hard to get urgent technical help from a reseller on a Sunday afternoon. I was able to after trying a couple times get this to work by first doing a full backup of the customer on the old server then doing a restore of the account on the new server.

The thing is that this is pretty much disaster recovery procedures here. I would ask someone else to fix this and would normally. But I happen to think this is good in house experience.

I will report this "Quirk" to my reseller. But I am not hopeful since the issue is kinda flaky.

Mind you I have been dealing with Cpanel now for more than a few years. As a matter of fact I had moved about 50 accounts between these servers as we phased the old one out over the last couple months. And never ever in 1000's of moves otherwise had anything close to these types of issues. That is a testament to just how trouble free your software is.

So don't take my tone wrong please. I have not posted much here because of the "Lack" of issues. Which in the end is a good thing. :)

This quirk with Cpanel has existed for several years now so I don't think
that Cpanel is in any major hurry to go in and fix that issue ...

I generally use "/scripts/pkgacct" to backup the accounts from SSH,
rsync (or FTP) the built cpmove files to the new server, and then
restore those using the backup restore functions in WHM.

While it's basically the same process as the transfer functions in WHM,
I notice that there is less bugs such as losing parked domains,
addon domains, and databases that way.
