Hi. I have a hosted account for website1 and other domains (just domain) on the same hosting provider (greengeeks). I also have a web solution on AWS EC2 with an elastic IP address and want to have one of my domains (let's call it domain2) pointed at the AWS site. In addition, I want to have email accounts with the domain2 name. I know I can addon domain2 as an addon domain on greengeeks to get email accounts in that name, but I want the domain to point at AWS not greengeeks. Is this possible?

Thank you.

Hello,

Yes, it's possible if you adjust the "A" record for the addon domain name to point to the IP address of the remote server. You can leave the "mail" and "MX" records the same if the domain name is already pointed to the cPanel server.

Thank you.

Thanks Michael. I got it working with an A name pointed at the AWS elastic IP. I couldnt do that change myself, I had to have greengeeks change the A name after adding the domain as an addon to my existing hosted account.

I am happy to see it's now working properly. Thank you for updating us with the outcome.
