Every time I or my clients add an addon domain in cpanel, it creates an ftp account, which it never used to do, and since the ftp accounts limit is lower than the addon domain, it will not allow them to add anymore domains. When was this changed? and has anyone else noticed this?

Personally - I wouldn;t use addon domains - they are just a pain in the rear end and a waste of time!

    Why limit ftp accts anyway?

We ran into the same thing - after some deliberation, its' become clear that there's no point in limiting the number of FTP accounts anyway - customers can add FTP accts all they want right up to their disk quota - so their real limit is the amount of disk space they are allowed.

May as well just say "Unlimited FTP accts (within your plan's disk space limits)" - good selling point anyway.
