Hi Everyone

I'm quite new to cpanel, had it installed on a server now for about a week an I'm getting close to sending the server live with our others. Before I've just used webmin/ssh to administrate but need a little more automation....anyway I'll stop waffling but that's my excuse if I ask something that's obvious.

I'm running:

WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.8.2-C118
CentOS 4.3 i686 - WHM X v3.1.0

and I need to know what auto installers should be included? If I view the "New addons" page I only get 3 which are YaBB, phpMychat & AgoraCart the rest are all in the "old addon system" and can only be upgraded or uninstalled. I have had a read through and I understand some have been removed from cpanel due to security issues however is this true for all?

For example if I click "Advanced Guestbook" in cpanel (bluelagoon) I can't install it.

This server is going to be used to resell hosting and host some of our current client sites so I want to be able to offer additional scripts as a feature of the hosting. I will be adding some of our own scripts manually but was hoping for more than 3 as standard in cpanel. Are there any third party packages that add multiple scripts anyone can recommend?

And one last question, sorry I know it's in the wrong forum but it's a quick one. Is there a more secure way to log into WHM than just username and pass? I hate logging in as root  I understand I can create a reseller account and use that but any better way?

Thanks

Ash

Cpanel Addon Scripts

Ash,

You should make sure that your current Cpanel & WHM software is updated.

Look in your WHM and make sure that under Addon Modules, you have cpanel addonupdates installed and kept to date checked. Make sure it updates.

You just need to go through WHM and do a force install of all currently available addon scripts. You do this through> Install cPAddon Scripts and you make sure to check all scripts as well as check Force Refresh of All cPAddon Sources. Once the process is done, you should be golden.

You should also look in Manage cPAddon Scripts and make sure that these are all checked and updated.

Hope this helps.

You can log into WHM under a secure login, https.....

Thanks for the info, Still having no luck... next dumb question then...

How do I force refresh of all cpaddon sources?

....> Install cPAddon Scripts and you make sure to check all scripts as well as check Force Refresh of All cPAddon Sources
I seem to be missing that option? I've checked all the "Install and Keep Updated" box's but after running updates & forcing a full cpanel update I get no further.

Thanks

Ash

ok all fixed :D

took a "upcp --force" but all is well..... now back to my autopilot vs iHost testing, then it's time to start the job of moving 100 sites one by one into cpanel from an old server. Going to be a long week!
